I am honored to have been inducted into the ACM SIGGRAPH Academy.
The citation reads:
“For pioneering research in blendshapes and stylized rendering, and for his sustained leadership in graphics and digital production.”
The induction ceremony will take place on Tuesday, July 21, during SIGGRAPH 2026, the international conference on computer graphics and interactive techniques, held in Los Angeles from July 19–23, 2026.
Comment from Ken Anjyo:
“I am truly honored to have been inducted into the ACM SIGGRAPH Academy. What means the most to me is being acknowledged as a researcher who has worked in the trenches of anime and 3DCG production. I am deeply grateful to the many colleagues and mentors who have walked this path alongside me, and I hope to keep contributing to the dialogue between the digital media industry and academic research. I’m also looking forward to receiving the commemorative teapot at the award(induction) ceremony at SIGGRAPH 2026!”

ACM SIGGRAPH Academy
The ACM SIGGRAPH Academy is an honorary group of individuals who have made substantial contributions to the field of computer graphics. These are principal leaders of the field, whose efforts have shaped the disciplines and/or industry, and led the research and/or innovation in computer graphics and interactive techniques. Members include researchers, engineers, artists, designers, and educators from both academia and industry.
The inaugural class in 2018 included past recipients of major SIGGRAPH awards — such as the Coons Award and the Computer Graphics Achievement Award — reaching back through the history of the field. Among the first inductees from Japan were Yoichiro Kawaguchi and Tomoyuki Nishita. Ken Anjyo becomes the third person from Japan to receive this honor.
